Go Inside '30 Minutes Or Less' With Jesse Eisenberg And Danny McBride
Nick Swardson tells MTV News his and McBride's schemers are 'simple dudes.'

Late last August, I fled the humid concrete confines of Times Square and arrived in the dusty heat of a junkyard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Next to a giant tangle of rusted-out cars, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson were busy blowing up watermelons and shouting expletives far too dirty to reprint.
It was a strange and hilarious sight to behold, but it all made sense: I was on the set of "30 Minutes or Less," and what I was witnessing was the unlikely glamour of major studio moviemaking. McBride and Swardson play low-life criminals with a simple plan: strap a bomb to a pizza delivery boy and force him to rob a bank in less than nine hours, lest the kid become an unwitting suicide bomber.
"They're kind of simple dudes. They're not very learned," Swardson said during a break in the action. "But they're not robots. At the core, they are actually very nice people."
Added McBride, "They just want to be loved, whether it takes a bomb or a bank robbery to get there."
What happens after they hatch their scheme, test their explosives on watermelons and then strap them to Jesse Eisenberg's pizza boy forms the bulk of the action and the comedy in "30 Minutes," which hits theaters on August 12. With Eisenberg in trouble, he enlists the help of his best friend (played by Aziz Ansari), even though they've had an earlier falling-out resulting from Eisenberg's sexual conquest with his friend's sister. But there's nothing like a life-threatening situation to bring two pals together.
On set, both guys were having a blast. During some downtime, Ansari cracked that he and Eisenberg were making plans to reboot the "Fast and Furious" franchise and take over the roles of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Eisenberg, for his part, was having a blast being a madman behind the wheel during stunt-driving exercises.
"I live in New York City and ride a bicycle, so I never drive ever, so I've been given the opportunity and a cool car," he said with a sly smile. "Every time I drive, I get yelled at by the crew, but the stunt drivers always wink at me and say, 'Nah, that was good, man. Keep doing it.' I've been subtly and subversively encouraged to be very dangerous in the car."

Justin Bieber Egg Tosser Arrested
17-year-old Australian teen appeared in court on Thursday after allegedly breaking in to Sydney's Acer Arena and egging the pop star.

When are people going to learn that you just can't get away with dissing Justin Bieber? You can't criticize him, date him or look sideways at the "Baby" singer without the Beliebers coming down on you like a ton of sparkly, text-mad bricks.
So it should come as no surprise that the culprit in a recent Bieber bashing Down Under was swiftly brought to justice for his egg raid on the pop star. According to The Associated Press, Australian officials have charged a 17-year-old with breaking into Bieber's concert at Sydney's Acer Arena on Friday and tossing eggs at the singer. Video of the incident showed several raw eggs hitting the stage and just missing Bieber and his backup singers. Bieber and his crew kept dancing amid the attack, but the Melbourne Herald Sun reported that officials from the arena complained about the incident to police after catching wind of the egging on a social networking site.
The teen was arrested at his home in Bondi Junction, and police seized a cell phone and other items while taking him into custody.
The unnamed youth made an appearance in Sydney Children's Court on Thursday and was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing, and malicious damage. He was released on bail and is scheduled to enter a plea next month. Police say the teen broke into the arena through the roof.
Bieber didn't react to the ovum assault, but he did take time after one of his recent shows to meet up with Australian teen Casey Heynes, who became famous for a viral video in which he stood up to a bully. He invited Heynes to come out on stage at a show in Melbourne and tell the crowd "Never say never" after meeting with him privately backstage.

Charlene Fang: Why this Singapore General Election is important
Every election, no matter the level -- class presidency, captain of a dragon boat team, voting in a treasurer -- should matter automatically.
But for many Singaporeans, this has not been the case.
Every election since the country?s independence in 1965 has been its own twisted version of Groundhog Day: the government is already formed by nomination day (there were no elected opposition members of parliament for almost two decades), the People?s Action Party (PAP) maintains the majority, and opposition parties campaign tooth-and-nail to secure some form of a tiny presence in Singapore?s parliament.

'Moulin Rouge' Fashions: Experts Weigh In!
Kelly Cutrone and Robert Verdi recall the film's influence on style back in 2001 before MTV News' live stream today at 3 p.m. ET.

"Moulin Rouge" wasn't just about the music; it was also about the fashion. Costume designer Catherine Martin took home the Oscar when the film premiered, thanks to taking turn-of-the-century styles and updating them for a brand-new century. Nicole Kidman dazzled in a bevy of corsets, feathers and sequins.
"When 'Moulin Rouge' came out 10 years ago, the entire fashion world was on the edge of their seat waiting to see the looks that were going to appear in the movie," celebrity stylist Robert Verdi recalled. "Fifteen years prior, we hadn't seen those shape-changing looks that women really love. We had gone away from it. The '90s were kind of bleak and austere and dark, and here comes 'Moulin Rouge' and restores our faith in fantasy and in fashion."
Fashion PR maven Kelly Cutrone had a similar recollection of the film's fashion, which had fans trying to re-create those bombshell looks. "It was one of the first films in a really long time to actually invade and take over the fashion industry," she said. "We went from kind of asymmetrical oversized clothing to everybody's wearing corsets. ... It was great for all the corsets designers."
For more on the film, check out MTV News' special "Moulin Rouge at 10: A Spectacular Spectacular MTV News Event," which looks at the influence of the film on all things pop culture, including fashion.
MTV News will reunite director Baz Luhrmann and Ewan McGregor, today at 3 p.m. ET on MTV.com. The director and actor will be joined by co-star John Leguizamo, who played artist Toulouse-Lautrec, and Martin, who won the Oscar not only for costume design and but also for art direction. Hosted by MTV News' Josh Horowitz, the live stream will include special appearances and live interviews while looking back at how the film came to be and how its legacy continues to grow.

Beyonce Waves Her 'B' Flag In New Video Set Photos
Leaked pictures show diva in an elaborate headdress, surrounded by female 'soldiers.'

Beyoncé on the set of her "Girl" music video

On Tuesday, Beyoncé fans went batty when photos of the Queen B — reportedly taken on the set of her brand-new music video — began making the rounds. The blurry snaps show B rocking a fierce faux-hawk, white jumpsuit and sunglasses, reportedly Givenchy couture (like there was any doubt) and, according to fan sites like BeyonceDaily, are from the shoot for a song called "Girl."
Aside from that, details remained scarce ... until Wednesday (April 13) that is, when even more on-set pics hit the Net. In the new photos, Beyoncé stands in a smoky, post-apocalyptic war zone, wearing an elaborate headdress and holding a battle flag aloft (and it sure looks like said flag is emblazoned with a big "B"). She's surrounded by an army of dancers, each of whom is dressed in what could charitably be called "Les Misérables" chic, their fists thrust triumphantly in the air.
It's not exactly clear if the photos are taken from the set of "Girl" or, as some reports suggest, they're from another video shoot, supposedly for a song called "'Till the End of the World." Regardless, Beyoncé is clearly up to something, and her flurry of activity only lends credence to a report in Australia's The Daily Telegraph that she'll be releasing the follow-up to her massive I Am ... Sasha Fierce in late June.
When MTV News last spoke to Beyoncé, she told us she was aiming to bust barriers with the new album, proclaiming that she was drawing inspiration from "every type of genre."
"I'm not in a box," she said. "It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."
What do you think of Beyoncé's video-set photos? Tell us in the comments!
