Ever since they were first announced, the O Music Awards have proudly proclaimed themselves the untraditional alternative to the staid world of red carpets, acceptance speeches and celebrity glad-handing.
And for further proof of that point, consider the following: Though the inaugural O Music Awards won't premiere until April 28, the first award will be handed out on Monday at 4 p.m. ET ... and it's a big one.
For weeks, fans have been voting for the Most Innovative Music Video through the O Music Awards official site, and on Monday — in a roundtable debate moderated by MTV News' James Montgomery — a winner will be crowned.
The O Music Awards Debate for the Most Innovative Music Video, presented by FUZE®, will stream live on OMusicAwards.com and MTV.com. Joining Montgomery around the table will be acclaimed video director Wayne Isham, Mashable's Brenna Ehrlich and some super-secret celebrity guests.
The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and more will also take part in the discussion about just what makes a video truly innovative, and the folks who are nominated for the award — a list that includes Arcade Fire, Robyn, OK Go and Andy Grammer — will also Skype in to make the case for why their video deserves to be named Most Innovative.
On Monday morning, the original list of 10 nominees will be whittled down to the top five vote-getters, and then, during the debate, our roundtable and the Internet audience will cut that list down to the final three. At the very end, we'll announce the winner of the very first O Music Award for Most Innovative Video.
The inaugural O Music Awards will stream live from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on OMusicAwards.com. Tune in to see who will reign supreme in categories like Most Viral Dance, Funniest Music Short and NSFW Music Video!

MTV's 'DISconnected' Is 'Important,' Pete Wentz Says
Movie about digital drama and its consequences premieres Monday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
By Kara Warner
LOS ANGELES — With the positive influence technology has had on our busy lives, there is a negative side, with those who abuse technology to hurt themselves and others. MTV has started to raise awareness and fight cyberbullying head-on with the creation of A Thin Lin and the new TV movie "DISconnected."
"DISconnected" revolves around four technology-dependent characters who all endure different types of digital drama and suffer consequences because of it. The film held a screening Wednesday night, and MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with a few star supporters to find out how they deal with the topic of digital drama and cyberbullying in their own lives.
"It's important to me, because having become an artist in the digital age, you get to see all the aspects of how being so connected works," Pete Wentz said. "It's such an amazing idea, but at the same time I think it allows people who are cowardly or anonymous, it gives them a lot of voice. Being a dad, knowing my son is going to grow up only knowing this [digital age], it's really important for him to see that people do stand up and not everybody is hiding behind a computer screen. I want him to know that."
Actor Jordan Calloway, who plays one of the four main characters in the film, agreed with the importance of the film's serious subject matter.
"To be a part of this movement was really important to me, because it drives home a strong message that kids in society need to hear," he said. "The fact that [director] Leslie [Libman] took it upon herself to get this message out to kids and all of us who use technology, it was really important for me, as a college student myself, to be a part of this, to be able to drive the point across. My character, Isaiah, is based on a true story, which is that of Abraham Biggs; he was a 19-year-old kid in Florida who actually did commit suicide."
Be sure to tune in to "DISconnected" on Monday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, and check out the movie's Facebook page.

Raise your glass for Pink. The singer just nabbed a role alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in the sex-addiction comedy "Thanks for Sharing."
"Kids Are Alright" screenwriter Stuart Blumberg will make his directorial debut helming the flick and has only the highest praise for the pop star, according to EW.com.
"[Pink] could not be a more ideal fit for this role," Blumberg said. "She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we're incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences."
The film also stars "Love and Other Drugs" actor Josh Gad, and Edward Norton is onboard as a producer on the film.
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, will play a "free-spirited" addict who bonds with Gad's character. Pink's previous onscreen credits include "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Rollerball," "Catacombs" and "Happy Feet Two." Her music has appeared on countless soundtracks including "White Chicks," "Mean Girls," "Moulin Rouge!" and "Fantastic Four."
Pink was spotted on the "Thanks for Sharing" set in New York City on Monday sporting a leather jacket and her signature cropped, platinum-blond locks updated with blue highlights. The movie is due out in 2012.
Earlier this year, Pink became a first-time mom when she and husband Carey Hart welcomed a baby girl, Willow Sage Hart. She released her album Greatest Hits ... So Far!!!, which spawned the two feel-good anthem hits "Raise Your Glass" and "F---in' Perfect," last November.
