LOS ANGELESBritney Spears makes headlines at concerts, even when she's not performing. That's probably why Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM tapped the pop princess to guest-host their annual Wango Tango music festival along with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night at the Staples Center.

The bill was a balance of pop and hip-hop, with acts like Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, "Glee" 's Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Derülo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and newcomer Cody Simpson.

Backstage, the media room went into a frenzy when Spears arrived in a red, geometric-print dress and a beaming smile. Owning her "femme fatale" moniker, Spears worked the carpet for a few moments while all of the cameras in the room were pointing at her. It was the second red carpet appearance by Brit this week, after her Beverly Hills benefit on Wednesday night for the St. Bernard Project.

Spears' Femme Fatale collaborator Ke$ha, who was returning to the festival for the second time, said that an onstage collab between to the two would have to require one thing.

"That would have to include me finding her and attacking her," Ke$ha told MTV News, with the best intentions. "I'm planning on pouncing her."

While that never happened, at least not onstage, Ke$ha delivered on her promise of a set heavy on her glitter gun. And she assured us she knew the dos and don'ts of handling that kind of firepower.

"Do not spray yourself in the face with it," she said. "Do spray everybody else with it. That's pretty much it."

While Joe Jonas wasn't performing at the show, he took a break from recording his solo debut to catch up with almost everyone backstage.

"I didn't see Britney backstage, just said 'hello' to a couple of my friends," Jonas said. "Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all the way out in the desert, it changes everything."

Also happy to have Wango Tango in Los Angeles were locals Far East Movement.

"Man, we grew up literally a few blocks away from here, and you can only imagine basketball games being played here," Kev Nish said. "So to come in here as performers, to be able to do our songs in this arena is a little crazy. We used to pass out CDs a few blocks [away], so we're very thankful. And the lineup is nuts, so we're extremely excited to be a part of this lineup."

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray's Trial To Be Televised

Judge rules that camera will be allowed in the courtroom for manslaughter case.

For what promises to be one of the most bizarre and riveting legal proceedings in years, a Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday that a television camera will be allowed in the courtroom when Michael Jackson's doctor goes on trial for involuntary manslaughter.

Reuters reported that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, approved the presence of a camera in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray as long as it does not interfere with the proceedings in the closely watched case.

The judge asked for the "absolute least-intrusive placement" of a TV camera in the courtroom, but blocked cameras from documenting jury selection.

Pastor also announced that he would bump up the opening date of the trail by four days to March 24, at which point jury selection will begin. Murray, who faces up to four years in prison if convicted, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the trial is expected to last around six weeks.

Cardiologist Murray was hired to be Jackson's personal physician in the run-up to the King of Pop's planned 50-date comeback series of shows at London's O2 arena in the summer of 2009. The doctor told police that he provided Jackson, 50, with sedatives and the surgical anesthetic propofol in order to combat the singer's chronic insomnia. He said he did so on the morning of June 25, 2009, when Jackson died of what a coroner deemed acute propofol poisoning.

TMZ reported on Tuesday (February 8) that Murray's lawyers plan to argue that Jackson was already in weak health before he died and that it's unfair to blame propofol for his passing. Unnamed sources close to the case told the gossip site that at the time of his death, Jackson's body was already failing him in part because concert promoter AEG Live had "driven [him] over the edge" with a rigorous rehearsal schedule for the shows.

Murray's lawyers reportedly plan to call witnesses to say that Jackson was not showing up for rehearsals and when he did he showed "clear signs" of frail health. They also reportedly plan to argue that it was Jackson who administered the final, fatal dose of propofol to himself while Murray was out of the room.

Lady Gaga is giving fans a peek at the girl behind the pop star in an exclusive special titled "Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside." In the hour-long interview, set to air Thursday, May 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, the singer reveals how she went from Stefani Germanotta to Gaga, pop's pre-eminent global superstar, and allows her audience to share her vulnerabilities.

During the intimate chat, Mother Monster opens up about her rise to fame — from her school days of being bullied by classmates to the moment she decided to pursue her dreams of pop stardom. She speaks in-depth about the moments that shaped her as an artist, including the release of her highly anticipated album, Born This Way, on May 23.

"Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside" also focuses on Gaga at home, spotlighting her close relationship with her family and growing up in Manhattan before she made the life-changing decision to move out on her own to New York City's Lower East Side.

Gaga recalls being bullied by students at school and what impact it had on her. "I remember once, some of the girls from my class, they were hanging out with some boys that I knew also," the "Judas" singer says. "And then I went to meet some friends for some pizza that were at the same pizzeria, and the boys picked me up and threw me in the trashcan on the street on the corner of my block, while all the other girls from the school were leaving and could see me in the trash and everybody was laughing — and I was even laughing.

"I always have that nervous giggle and I just remember, like, holding back the tears and the lip quivering," she continues. "And I remember even one of the girls looking at me like, 'Are you about to cry? You're pathetic.' I remember I didn't tell anybody, that's what I remember. I remember I didn't tell anybody. I remember I didn't want to tell my parents because it was too embarrassing. And I remember I didn't want to really bring it up with my girlfriends even though they were there."

Her parents, as Gaga explains in the special, have always been supportive of her dreams, even if it meant challenging her.

"My dad was really into rock and roll. Bruce Springsteen had such an influence on our home. My dad saw me singing along to his records and he would pick me up and throw me around the room and laugh and cry with me while I would sing Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel records with him. My father gave me — I believe it was for Christmas — it was a Bruce Springsteen songbook for the piano and on it was 'Thunder Road,' which is my favorite Bruce Springsteen song. And my dad said, 'If you learn how to play this song, we will take out a loan for a grand piano, a baby grand.' I didn't know the difference. There was the big one and a small one."

A young Gaga was more than up for the challenge. "So I remember it was the hardest thing for me. I was playing these huge pieces, like 15 pages long. ... I opened up the book and there was, like, chords, guitar chords. I was so confused, I didn't understand it, so I just started to read it," she recalls. "Eventually, I got it down."

Catch an exclusive teaser trailer for "Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside" on Thursday at 10:58 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, after a new episode of "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew."
