Evanescence 'Screaming' To Get On 'Breaking Dawn' Soundtrack
'I think that would be awesome,' frontwoman Amy Lee tells MTV News.

Evanescence have sold millions of albums, toured the world and won a pair of Grammys, but there's still one accomplishment that has, to this point, managed to elude them: a coveted spot on a "Twilight" soundtrack.
It's sort of hard to believe, given everything they've achieved, and the fact that their music seems tailor-made for Stephenie Meyer's series. And perhaps you could chalk it all up to the band's lack of activity in recent years, but now, with a new album waiting in the wings and a brand-new single just let off the leash, there's really no excuse.
And, as they told MTV News after the premiere of "What You Want," scoring a slot on the upcoming "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack is definitely a goal this time out.
"I've been screaming for [new song] 'My Heart Is Broken' to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well," drummer Will Hunt said. "I got sucked into the 'Twilight' vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I've got to watch it."
"I think that would be awesome, actually," frontwoman Amy Lee added.
It's not like Evanescence haven't tried to get on a "Twilight" soundtrack in the past, but for whatever reason, it never panned out. And it was because of those early attempts that they'd love to be included in the next film. ... Simply put, Lee has become invested in the story, and she's not afraid to admit it.
"Fine, I read the books; everybody hates me now," Lee laughed. "I didn't watch the first movie — I was like, 'Yeah, whatever. I got over vampires in high school' — then they were like, 'Maybe you should write a song for the movie,' so I read the book and I wrote some songs, and it didn't work out because they have all these cool hipster people that are doing the 'Twilight' stuff. But then I was kind of into it, so I read the next books."
And after reading the books, Lee actually found herself at odds with her bandmates, most of whom are avowed members of Team Edward. Seems she's got a soft spot for the frequently shirtless werewolf, though not for reasons you'd probably expect.
"Jacob [is my favorite], for sure," she said. "He's the good guy, he's the sweetheart."

Emma Watson 'Perfect' For 'Beauty And The Beast'
Guillermo del Toro tells MTV News he'd rather direct the retelling than just produce.

The pairing of Guillermo del Toro and Emma Watson on a "Beauty and the Beast" remake seems almost too good to be true, but the director confirmed to MTV News that the project is indeed in the works.
"It's one of those landmarks, one of those holy grails, and I really hope to do it," del Toro said. "We're just starting the process."
Originally, it was reported that del Toro would be producing the flick alongside "Crazy, Stupid, Love" producer Denise Di Novi, but he shared with MTV News that he would rather direct the movie. He said he's starting to write the story line for it now while putting his alien movie "Pacific Rim" through production.
Instead of a modernized take like this year's "Beastly," consider del Toro's movie to be a classic retelling of the tale as old as time. He confirmed that his version will take place in the same period setting as the fairy tale; we're hoping that means it will include some of the stylized visuals he's become known for with "Pan's Labyrinth" and the "Hellboy" movies.
Del Toro didn't have a timeline yet for when his first draft on "Beauty and the Beast" would be done, but he said it should be within the next few years. After all, he'd need it to be done by then for leading lady Watson to still be a prime choice for the role of the titular beauty.
"It's a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part," he said. "I think she is the perfect character to do that movie."
Watson recently wrapped filming on "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and, barring her potential involvement in Taylor Lautner's "Incarceron," has a free schedule for now.

Lil Wayne And Drake To Drop Joint Album
'That's definitely going to get done,' Cash Money honcho Birdman confirms to XXLmag.com.

Move over Jay-Z and Kanye West, here come Lil Wayne and Drake. While Hov and Yeezy have pretty much dominated the hip-hop conversation this week with the release of their collaborative Watch the Throne, Cash Money CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams took it up a notch when he confirmed on Friday (August 12) that Weezy and Drizzy Drake will also be joining forces on an upcoming project.
"Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album]," Baby told XXLmag.com. "That's definitely going to get done."
Birdman is himself no stranger to joint LPs: In 2006, the #1 Stunna shared billing with Wayne on their Like Father, Like Son album. Now, in 2011, the tag-team trend appears to be gaining even more traction. Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" got together as Bad Meets Evil on their Hell: The Sequel EP in June. Of course, there's Jay and 'Ye's Throne, which dropped this week, as did Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame's Ferrari Boyz LP.
Back in January, during a radio interview with the U.K.'s Tim Westwood, Drake spoke on his plans to work with Wayne on a joint project. "We still got to do that album," he said. "I heard some other guys are coming out with an album too. There's two other rappers that are coming out with an album together. ... I don't know where they got that idea but ..."
Hear why Royce Da 5'9" thinks tag-team albums are good for the game.
Baby drew a clear distinction, however, between the Throne's sound and the sound that Drake and Weezy will be coming with. "It's older versus younger," he said. "I listened to a few songs [off Watch the Throne], and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So it's two different types of music all the way across the board."
Baby did acknowledge the mark that Jay and Kanye have made on the music industry with their WTT release. "But what they're doing is great. I think it's great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole," he continued. "I just think when Wayne and Drake get together, [it's] going to be something real special also because we more youthful."
With songs like "Successful," "Miss Me" and "Right Above It" already under their belts, there is no doubt that Wayne and Drake have developed a chemistry, but as for when the duo would actually drop the project, Birdman couldn't say. Wayne's Tha Carter IV is due on August 29 and Drake's sophomore work, Take Care, drops just two months later on October 24, so it may be some time.
