Beyonce Working With Kanye West Producer S1

'Power' producer tweets he's 'finishing up some monsters' after week in the studio with B.

Beyoncé's already taken inspiration from the likes of Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill, hit the studio with a list of producers that includes Ne-Yo, Sean Garrett and Jim Jonsin, and now, she's hoping to capture the surge of Kanye West's "Power."

B — who's already hard at work on the follow-up to her massive I Am ... Sasha Fierce album — just wrapped a week in the studio with producer S1, the man who co-produced "Power" and has logged time with the likes of Ghostface Killah and Erykah Badu.

S1 broke the news via his Twitter account and also posted a photo of himself and B over on his official site. And from the sound of things, the sessions, which took place in New York City, were definitely eventful.

"A couple of meetings then back in the lab with Beyonce today," he wrote in one tweet. "Excited to see what we're gonna create today after last night's session.

"Not going to bed anytime soon. Beyonce got us in here working and I'm loving every bit of it," he wrote in another post. "Finishing up some monsters ... everything is sounding really great and big!"

There's still not much information about Beyoncé's new album, though in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" last year, she said that, this time out, she's aiming to "make [her] own genre of music." In a follow-up interview with MTV News, she clarified that statement, explaining that she's "mixing every type of genre that I love" on the new album, and added, "I'm not in a box. It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."

What do you think S1's work with Beyoncé will sound like? Tell us in the comments!

Chinese women opting out of the workforce

International women's day -- Chinese women

For many years, staying at home without a formal job was viewed as shameful for women in China; but now a shift in outlook is seeing many urban women publicly expressing a desire to quit the formal workforce.

At the end of 2010, Tencent and Changjiang Daily surveyed over 20,000 women across China about their professional ambitions. An astounding 40 percent said they wanted to be housewives, 38 percent indicated that they wanted to be professionals, while the remainder expressed no preference at all.

A marked change from decades before when Mao declared that women in China hold up half the sky.

Stalley Makes Music For His Ohio Hometown To 'Ride Out To'

'This is something I wanted to give back,' rapper tells Mixtape Daily about Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music).

Street King: Stalley

Holding It Down For: Massillon, OH

Mixtape: Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music)

Real Spit: Stalley is a hometown hero. He might have moved out of his home state of Ohio, first by taking a scholarship to play hoops at the University of Michigan then later at Long Island University. But his heart never left Massillon, a blue-collar town bred on basketball and football dreams.

For his latest project, Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music), he recruited a fellow Ohioan, producer Rashad, and the two created the soundtrack to Massillon's night life.

"It's paying homage to my hometown, and in my hometown there's a street called Lincoln Way that everyone cruises on Friday and Saturday nights, showing off the cars, whether it's an old muscle car or a new-school paint-up car with a loud system. This is something I wanted to give back, as far as a music project, for that strip. Something that people can actually ride out to or be that soundtrack to that journey."

Start it up.

Joints to Check For
» "She Hates the Bass": "A lot of people like to drive old-school cars where I'm from," Stalley said. "They have systems tuned and popping. That's what I'm giving them. I'm giving them something they can ride from but also listen to and learn from."

» "See the Milq From My Chevy": "There's a theme to it, the project. The best way I can describe it is 'intelligent trunk music,' " he explained. "There's a lot of concepts, a lot of lyrics, a lot of hard work in it. So, what I'm giving them is putting that sound, that 808, that slap, trunk music [into a bigger picture]."

» "Lincoln Way Nights (Shop)": "Where I'm from, it's a small city built on steel factories and the railroad industry," Stalley said. "It's blue-collar and a lot of toughness around, so that's what's in my music. I just want to paint that picture and bring to life a small city that may be overlooked. There's a lot of small cities that are over looked that have a big responsibility on the way America runs."
